A private royal commission set on an estate in Al Aweer, on the eastern desert reaches of Dubai. Begun in 2002, the project unfolded across multiple parallel design schemes — each exploring a distinct register of contemporary palatial architecture grounded in the formal traditions of Gulf royal residences. The scope encompassed the full architectural program: principal elevations and massing, perspective studies, interior design, and the surrounding landscape with reflecting pools and water features. The site's relationship to the desert horizon shaped the residence's silhouette and the orientation of its private and ceremonial spaces — elevated viewing terraces, layered courtyards, and a measured palette of stone, water, and shade. A residence conceived as both intimate home and ceremonial setting — rooted in regional architectural memory, executed with contemporary precision.
